Bio

Maitri Smithhisler, E-RYT 500, YACEP, has been practicing yoga and meditation for 35 years and teaching since 1995. She started teaching at Texins in 1997, after moving to Dallas from having lived in a yoga community for 8 years that is located in Sierra Nevada Foothills of northern California.   

Over the years she has taught all over the Metroplex and in addition to Texins, currently teaches at a local hospital. She also serves as the Managing Director of a nearby meditation and yoga center. She considers one of her greatest blessings to share with others the joy she has received through the practice of yoga.

Fun Fact

Maitri’s first ever visit to Dallas was as a bicycle racer in her early twenties riding a criterium at White Rock Lake during the (now defunct) Tour of Texas.
